FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

SCHOOL ABSENCES: Thank you to all the parents who call the school office when your child is ill or going to be out of town. This phone call allows the secretary more time to deal with other school procedures. You may be calling for one or two children, but the secretary may have to contact as many as 20 or 25 homes to determine where the child(ren) are that have not been called in by a parent. We thank you for helping us. It doesn’t seem like a problem until there are more than 20 absences. Your calls are so appreciated and we want to take this time and space to tell you so.

STATE ASSESSMENTS: We will begin our State Assessments the first of March and they will end in late April.

PROGRESS REPORTS: Progress reports will go out on Wednesday, February 6th.

KANSAS DAY: On Tuesday, January 29th, individual classrooms celebrated Kansas Day in their rooms. The State of Kansas is 158 years old this year. Please take time to visit with your child about what they did on this fun and entertaining day.

1ST AND 2ND GRADE VOCAL CONCERT: Just a reminder that the 1st and 2nd grade vocal concert is scheduled for Monday, February 4th, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. in the East Campus Auditorium. They will practice at East Campus on Friday, February 1st, and Monday, February 4th at noon.

BOXTOPS: Don’t forget to save you box tops for the Eisenhower School. Money earned from the box tops, will be going to purchase a new water fountain that is used exclusively for filling up water bottles for students. The Junior and Senior High School have a couple of them and really like how they are being used in the building. If there are any questions about this process, please contact the office, or Mrs. Burton and we will do the best we can to answer your questions. Thanks for your time and support.

BEST CHOICE: We are now collecting BEST CHOICE labels at school. We use these labels for alternative seating purposes at school. BEST CHOICE is a popular label on items at our local grocery stores. We appreciate all your efforts helping our school purchase items by collecting the labels.
